Pendulum.
how many times can you overkill your senses before you feel nothing at all
how much of yourself can you give before you feel disconnected from your humanity
i'm forcing myself to finish these thoughts
forcing myself to feel something everyday
swinging away on a pendulum of emotions
sitting stranded in the coal mine
singing like the canary
grasping on to the little bit of hope
that i'm scooped up and led out
but its not your hands that i wait for
there's no prince charming
no champion on a white horse
the savior i wait for
is the girl i see in the mirror
i'm waiting for her to forgive herself for the damaged she's cause
for the mistakes she's made
for her to accept that
she's is perfect at being imperfect
that her eccentricities are a marvel not a blunder
everything can't be fixed
people lie
people change without explanations
or really
people never change you just see
you see without clouded eyes
all the holes you couldn't
wouldn't
see before
pain will wash over like rain
so i'll sing
in hopes that this sweet analgesic
will save us from the insanity in this swinging coal mine

The Hedgehog's Dilemma
"The hedgehog's dilemma, or sometimes the porcupine dilemma, is an analogy about the challenges of human intimacy. It describes a situation in which a group of hedgehogs all seek to become close to one another in order to share their heat during cold weather. However, once accomplished, they cannot avoid hurting one another with their sharp quills. They must step away from one another. Though they all share the intention of a close reciprocal relationship, this may not occur for reasons which they cannot avoid.
The hedgehog's dilemma suggests that despite goodwill, human intimacy cannot occur without substantial mutual harm, and what results is cautious behavior and weak relationships."

coincidence
i've been thinking a lot about coincidences and the big role they play in life
coincidences have led me to
disaster
coincidences have led me away from
disaster
but the more i think about it
was it really coincidences
or something else
for a lack of a better explanation
i'll just leave it up to coincidence
i'm sure luck will want some of the glory
but for now
coincidences
many small coincidences

Rainbow
I have to say that my favorite thing about the human race is our ability to hope. No matter how rough the storm nor how dark the hour there is always hope.
It doesn't matter how small the presence of hope exists once its there...it spreads.
Like fire. Like beautiful fire flies. Hope flies.

Change
You know those feelings you sometimes get. The feeling that something is about to happen....something big...something life changing. It starts at the pit of your stomach. Then the fear comes. Fear of change. You start to wonder if you're ready. If you have the strength, the courage to face this ....creature. You don't know when but you know soon....change will rear its not ugly but beautiful face. And with it a peace. The knowledge of knowing yes you can face this creature called change and it will be glorious.

little flakes
little flakes
gliding in the air
what are you
and where do you belong
who are you
and have you been here long
little flakes
how do you glow
and why are you so small
when did you fall away
and will you be long
little flakes
little flakes
you're little pieces of me!
little flakes
little flakes
i know why you glow
like tiny lite brites
dancing in the air
little flakes little flakes!
we were broken
little flakes little flakes
but now we glow
charged with hope
OH! little flakes little flakes
we are whole
little flakes little flakes
it doesn't matter if we belong
little flakes little flakes
we are who we are
and we are precious
little flakes
